Steve is a retired forester with over 30 years of private timberland management experience. For the past several years, he has been mainly involved with bottomland hardwood marketing and reforestation. A lifelong water fowler, Steve received his BS in Forest Management from LSU in 1973. Go Tigers!

Don Gremillion is a 1968 graduate of L.S.U. with a B.S. degree in Forestry. He has worked in the forest industry for the past 40 years, all in the hardwood forests of Louisiana.

Don specializes in hardwood forest management. He can evaluate the condition of any timber stand and recommend forestry applications that will help landowners capitalize on a valuable resource. At the same time, these applications can be designed to enhance forest habitat for all game species.

Troy enjoys hunting, fishing, horseback riding and almost all outdoor activities. He has lived in Louisiana most of his life, and worked in Colorado in the outfitting business for a brief period. Troy also has 15 years of experience in the field of surveying.

Beth was born a triplet, one of three girls. Born and raised in South Louisiana, she is well acquainted with all outdoor recreational activities. Her particular love is horseback riding, from trail riding, to running dogs through the woods, to penning cows. She also enjoys deep sea fishing.

Beth is definitely a country girl, having lived out in the country all of her life. She pulled up at her home one night, and counted six deer in her backyard.

Her faith and family are the cornerstones of her life. Beth has been married for almost 25 years and has 6 children. They range from 23 years old to 1 year old, and they all have a love of the outdoors, having been put on top of a horse before they could walk.

Kevin has been a lifelong resident of Extension, located near Turkey Creek, in the southern part of Franklin Parish. As an avid fisherman, Turkey Creek comes in handy. When it comes to the outdoors and deer hunting, Kevin can tell one all about it. His favorite tree to climb can be located in the Tensas River National Refuge. He also participates in forms of sports from coaching girls and boys on the diamond to yelling "GO TIGERS". A graduate of Fort Necessity High and Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM), Kevin has a Bachelors of Science degree in Geology. Being primarily a cotton farmer for twenty years, he has also had success growing corn, soybeans, and wheat. Now looking forward to providing his help and services as a Real Estate Agent. Carlan Hanks was born and raised in Kaplan, Louisiana, “Gateway to Sportsman’s Paradise”. Carlan’s passion and ambition has always been flying. He has been flying for over thirty years and does not plan to stop anytime soon. Carlan grew up duck and goose hunting in both the marshes and rice fields of Southwest Louisiana. So when the idea of opening a hunting lodge came into place, it seemed like a natural thing to do, hence, Louisiana Flyway Lodge. Carlan is real natural when it comes to preparing the land and setting up the blinds in order to set the stage for waterfowl hunting at its best. He attended Loyola University in New Orleans, the returned to Kaplan to pursue his career as an aerial applicator with the family business of fifty-five years, Hanks Flying Service, Inc. Carlan, along with his wife Josette, has renewed his interest in horses and working cattle.

Josette B. Hanks, whose maiden name is Broussard, was born and raised in Kaplan, Louisiana, “Gateway to Sportsman’s Paradise”. Josette has always had a true love for her Cajun Heritage. She and her husband, Carlan, own Louisiana Flyway Lodge, a waterfowl hunting operation. She enjoys entertaining hunters from throughout the United States with great Cajun cuisine and all the fun and uniqueness of her Cajun culture. As of recent, Josette has renewed her interest in horses. Horses and cattle were common to Josette’s upbringing as a child in that her father was a third generation cattleman from Cow Island, Louisiana. So I guess you might say that she is going back to her roots. Josette has a Master’s Degree in Education, but did not pursue that career for long. She worked eighteen years in Healthcare Administration and left to join her husband in the day to day operation of their aerial application business of Hank’s Flying Service, Inc.
